Aland - Lunar new year maxicards,

 

These three maxicards are from Aland. Year of the Rat 2020, Year of the Buffle 2021 and Year of the Tigre 2022. 

I am wondering the reason they use the cat instead of a tigre for this year.

New Zealand - Year of the Tigre 2022

 This card arrived from New Zealand, The stamp in red color, the color of Tết (Lunar new year festival).

Taiwan - Year of the tigre maxicard,

 

This YoT maxicard arrived from Taiwan. The fron side is the first day postmark. The back side, the sender dropped the special postmark for the first day of 2022. In Taiwan, the calendar starts on 1945 so year 2022 is year 111. Hence Jan 1, 2022 has a special date of 111.1.1 postmark.

Vietnam - Year of the Tigre 2022 issue

 

After more than a year, I continue updating on my blog. I come back with Year of the Tigre issue by Vietnam post.

The stamp set issued on first day of Dec 2021, designed by Mr Ng.Q.Vinh. As precedent years, I was in the philatelic bureau to get the stamp and took a quick meet with other collector friends. Unfortunatly, I came a pretty late so the designer, Mr Vinh, had left. So I had to demande another time to talk about the stamps and get his signature.

Here is the first day cover. I took totaly four pictorial postmarks. They are available in different cities in Vietnam (HoChiMinh city, Hanoi where I live, Khanh Hoa and Thua Thien Hue). In fact, there are 5 , including Kontum but there was no white place so four is enough. They are in couple. 

The designer, Mr. Q. Vinh have give me this gift : a brochure and a set of cards. Inside the brochure, Mr Vinh shows all information about the stampset. All drafts, the final design, step by step.

Vietnam, Year of the Buffle issue;

Today, Vietnam post release new issue to celebrate the lunar new year 2021 : Year of the Buffle. 

The stampset is designed by N.Q.Vinh. As reminder, N.Q.Vinh had designed Year of the Mouse 2020 stamps also and it seems that he will continue his serie untill the end of 12 lunar astronologic circle.

The lunar new year festival is called  "Tết". One of many vietnamese beautiful activities for "Tết" is to go to the Tết market and shopping food, decoration items, etc for the festival.

The stampset shows the buffle go to the Tết market. On their shoulder, we can see many of typical fruits for the both poles of Vietnam: North and South.

I met the designer at Philatelie bureau today and of corse I didnot forget to request him to sign on my philatelie items.

Canada, Orchid cover and Year of the Rabbit 2011

Today I got a letter from Canada. I hadnot seen the postman for a very longtime by covid.

I do not know the name of this cancelation type. Normaly I see they slash the stamp by a pen if cannot drop a postmark cancellation.

The sender have used 3 definitive orchid stamps for the postage fee. And inside, she sent me one souvenir sheet Year of the Rabbit 2011. In Vietnam, we do not call Year of the Rabbit. Instead of the Rabbit, we have Year of the Cat.

Vietnam, Covid19- Prevention and Control stamps,

This stampset was released yesterday but busy at work so today I just can go to the shop to get it. We should note that CORONA virus is getting worse day by day in Vietnam, especially in Hanoi and in Saigon for the moment. So they have closed all the shop, excluding markets, in Hanoi since last Sunday and given advises to all citizen to stay at home as much as possible. Today, the first day of April is the first day of 2 weeks we close to each other. No bus, no train, no autocar, no shop, nothing. Stay at home as much as possible. I saw the police ordered the crowds to disperse in the square and catch people going out without mask. Hope tomorrow will be better.
